Thank you for your interest in Bush Conference. This is a Christian conference that takes place over the August bank holiday weekend each year. It began over twenty years ago when a group of Christian friends persuaded a local farmer to let them use a field for a weekend campsite. Over the intervening years there have, of course, been many changes and developments. We now meet on Broadnymett farm just on the outskirts of the Mid Devon village of Bow having previously been at Hartnoll near Tiverton and prior to that at Churchingford in the Blackdown Hills.
The conference is organised by a group of Christians from various churches who share a passion to see individuals coming to know God in all of His fullness and developing into the people that they were intended to be. One of the areas of growth over recent years has been the inclusion of children's and youth sessions along-side the adult programme, although our emphasis is still on families.
As you may notice from the pictures most of the meetings take place in large barns which are cleaned out for the event (no problem if it rains!) and camping is available in an adjacent field. Many who are more local to the venue choose to come as day visitors.
By now we hope you're thinking "is this for me?" The answer is 'yes' if you are interested in a relaxed weekend away that will include spirit-filled worship, anointed bible teaching, powerful ministry, fellowship and fun in the beautiful Devon countryside. We find that some people come as part of their church group, benefiting from the dynamic of a weekend away together, others come as families or as individuals, all being blessed by being in the unique atmosphere of Bush and encountering God in fresh and exciting ways.
Bush Conference is proud to once again offer a comprehensive children’s programme. Dedicated venues, speakers and teams will engage 3 - 14 year olds in a range of challenging and inspiring Bible based teaching, helping them to grow and develop in their own Christian faith. Places for our dedicated children’s programs is limited and restricted to a first registered, first come basis, so early booking is recommended.
Video from the main venue is relayed into our DIY crèche enabling parents to entertain their young children and not miss a moment of … teaching.
There will also be opportunities to talk, pray, and enjoy fellowship with Christians from all over the South West and beyond.
Set in the idyllic rolling Devon countryside, Bush Conference is hosted on a working farm and as such we provide a field for camping with flushing toilets and a cold water supply. We do not provide electric hook up or wifi.
Besides the main barn being home for the worship and teaching, it also plays host to the Burger Bar serving hot meals at breakfast, lunch and after the evening session. The Tuck Shop serves tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as a wide range of confectionary and soft drinks. There is also a bookshop, resourced by Aquilla Fellowship where you can buy the speaker’s recommended books and the latest CDs DVDs and other books helping you to continue to grow in your faith.
Day Visitors are welcome to attend any of our main sessions, although we can’t guarantee spaces for the children’s programme. (Pre-Registration, is advised.) There is no registration fee for day visitors although there will be an offering on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Daniel and his wife Suzy met in Exeter while attending the Vineyard church. Following two years of preparation and training in missions they responded to God’s call to full time Christian ministry. They initially went to Zimbabwe and Mozambique working with YWAM and Iris ministries. Having seen God do remarkable miracles and thousands of people turn to Christ they moved to Malawi. Here they live in Blantyre with their two children, Ben and Beth, and have been developing the YWAM base and leading teams in various outreach projects.
Daniel and Suzy are passionate lovers of Jesus, energised for all they do from a place of intimacy with the Father, and we are confident you will be blessed as you listen to their stories of God’s greatness and challenged by their infectious enthusiasm for making Jesus known and growing disciples.
